Lord’s Long Room Lunch raises over £10k for Help for Heroes

Synonymous Sport are delighted to confirm that our Lord’s Long Room Lunch earlier this summer has raised £10,294.13 for Help for Heroes.

The event in May, hosted by Graham Gooch and Phil Tufnell, was kindly sponsored by legal and financial advisory firm Tees and saw guests treated to a delicious three-course lunch, a spectacular setting and stories from two of England’s finest – all while raising funds for the Armed Forces & veterans’ charity.

Synonymous Sport, a marketing agency focused on elevating brands through sports sponsorship, host several events each year, all raising vital funds for different charitable causes. This year’s Long Room Lunch was billed as Ashes themed , with the England Men travelling to Australia this winter and the Women having returned from their own tour Down Under a few months before.

Graham Gooch, one of England’s greatest players, hosted the afternoon, alongside one of cricket’s biggest characters, Phil Tufnell. Guests were treated to a hilarious mix of stories, analysis and observations from the pair. A silent auction was also held to help raise money.

Darrell Fox, Founder of Synonymous Sport, said: “One of the most enjoyable parts of my role is hosting these events, raising money for some truly incredible causes. At Lord’s, you are guaranteed an unbelievable experience and that’s why ourselves and our fantastic sponsors, Tees, OMODA | JAECOO Rayleigh and Ambassador Cruise Line, return year after year.

“Help for Heroes is a charity very close to our hearts, and being able to hand over a donation of this size is very rewarding for the whole team.

“We’re now looking ahead to 2026, with An Evening of Boxing on Thursday 5th of March 2026 at Braxted Park in Witham, our Raceday at Chelmsford City racecourse and our Lord’s Long Room Lunch all set to return!”
